Busy Sat, Oct 22

Saturday was a very busy day. Started with Soccer class for Abhay. Normally Ajay would go too, but it was very windy. It was portrait day and abhay had his picture taken with the team.

Ajay and I got ready and we went to Goddard as they had the fall festival. Kids had a blast and got their face painted. Ajay was "itsy man" and abhay was Mario.

The afternoon was the community Halloween party. Kids had a blast. Abhay as usual was with Sonali and Rohan.

Ajay and soccer class.

On Tuesday's I normally pick the kids up and we all go to soccer class. And when Sampath gets there we do a kid swap and I go home ot get dinner and stuff ready. A couple of weeks ago, I took a picture of Ajay under a tree near the soccer field.

Then last week, he goes to the tree and says " amma - cheese" and then when I do not respond he says " photo please"

Belt promotion

Abhay had his belt promotion on Friday. He got promoted from striped to solid yellow belt. He was very excited and he did very well too - he was one of the few kids in his class who was able to break the board in the first try. Proud of my Karate champ.

Ajay conversation skills

On Wednesday Abhay has a late swim class,so our routine completely shifts. So, as soon as abhay leaves for class, I take Ajay up to give him a bath. I was singing "it is time to do the Jokuli now, jokuli now, my fair Ajay" in a combination of " it is time to clean up the toys in the room and London bridge is falling down. In the second go round, ajay sings " it is time to do the jokuli now, my fair Amma" My sweety pie can talk!!!!!

Captain America and Marvel heroes to the rescue.

Abhay used to come to our bed almost every night. It would be around the same time Ajay wakes up for milk. He has done this ever since Ajay was a baby and I would wake up to breast feed. Very recently, he picked up a Captain America blanket from Costco. He was very sweet and picked another for Ajay also. I told him he can have it on one condition - he needs to sleep in his room all night long. Night 1 - worked like a charm. So I promised him the entire set if he slept for two more nights ( gave me time to order from Amazon) - worked.... Also promised him 2 tokens if he slept in his room for 2 more nights. By now he was all set. Touch wood, he has been sleeping in his room all night long. If only Ajay would sleep through the night now -

Pendyala housewarming weekend

Oct 8th weekend was a NJ weekend for the Pendyala housewarming. The hunt for popsicles continues with Vasu uncle.

Weekly schedule at a glance

Monday Evening - leave work at 4:15 (at the latest), pick abhay and change for karate at 5:10. Sampath pick Ajay and home by 6:15 to start dinner, shower, eat, bedtime reading and SLEEP. Tuesday - Lego club from 4 - 5, Change Abhay and go to soccer at 6. Swap kids in soccer class and I head to the PTA mtg at OES at 7. Sampath and the kids go home, kids bath and dinner was done by the time I got home by 8:15. Wednesday - pick kids, Navarathri vethalaipakku. Sampath will take abhay for swim class at 7:30. Dinner and bath for ajay between 7:30 and 8:30. Thursday - Karate at 5;45, Sampath pick Ajay and home by 6:15 to start dinner, Navarathri vethalaipakku, shower, eat, bedtime reading PACKING for NJ and SLEEP. I feel like a hamster on the wheel.
